Carbon Coco Teeth Whitening Review

Back in January I was kindly sent the “Ultimate Carbon Kit” for review. All opinions and images are my own, this is not a sponsored post, items were given free of charge for purpose of review.

Purchased direct from the retailer, you can have this kit for about £32 (on offer right now!). It includes a super soft bamboo bristle toothbrush, a pot of activated charcoal powder and a charcoal toothpaste.

“Pitch-black powder to whiten your teeth? Yes! Activated charcoal is the secret ingredient. It’s an oxidized version of charcoal and can be used to effectively whiten teeth. It removes external stains from your teeth without the toxic chemical ingredients used in commercial tooth whitening. This tooth whitening promotes good oral health and can change the pH in the mouth, helping to reduce things that cause cavities, gum disease and bad breath.

Carbon Coco is a 100% Natural Teeth Whitener. It naturally whiten teeth, polishes teeth, strengthens enamel and detoxifies your mouth without any chemicals and added nasties.”

I have to say – I was sceptical about this working, how can a jet black powder make anything white? My biggest questions after of course would it work, included would it stain, will it taste horrid and would it increase sensitivity in my teeth?

I’m on the fence about saying if I would repurchase this or not – hear me out! The powder is tasteless, the toothpaste only lightly flavoured, the texture of the brush is really a pleasure to use and it without a doubt works. Immediately after one use, it left my teeth quite literally squeaky clean, I could hear the squeak as I brushed! It didn’t make my teeth sensitive in any way, which can sometimes happen with whitening products, and I definitely seen a difference in the whiteness of my teeth and overall clean feeling in my mouth.

But! It is messy. I don’t know about you, but I don’t tend to keep my mouth and lips tightly closed when I’m brushing my teeth, I make that weird clenched teeth face to really get to work on my front teeth. I couldn’t possibly use this product in a hurry, or while I was dressed in my “leaving the house clothes”! It’s easy enough cleaned up, but I had black residue all over my hands and clothes every time I used it, not to mention the mess it left all over the sink (and anywhere else it just managed to get!)

Have you used this before? Or do you have a favourite teeth whitening product?
