How are you coping with the chaos? I won’t lie, the last few days have been ROUGH. I’ve seen some absolutely terrible treatment of the chronically ill or those with existing conditions, it made me worry! However, as always I am doing my best to focus on the good, my have gots, not my have nots. Here are some more tips for having the BEST day at home during quarantine/self isolation/lockdown.
AS ALWAYS – do as much as you can, as best as you can, that is enough.
one thing your belly will thank you for
For the love of god Karen, eat the fucking pizza! Or, like me, eat the pizza, the popcorn, the crisps, the nuts, the cookies….. Your belly and probably your brain will thank you for a little bit of comfort food. I’ve been alkaline plant based for a year now. In the time I’ve been self isolating I’ve had more cravings than I have the entire year.
one thing your mind will thank you for
For me, my mind is screaming at me many, many things. Such as, delete the news app dickhead, stop refreshing your emails, twitter, instagram, blog stats…. I really should get back to meditating twice a day and watching live feeds of the zoo, I also read two books in three days, not sure what happened there tbh.
one thing your health will thank you for
Eat some fruit and veg or take some vitamins. Intermittent hot/cold in the shower is beneficial to health too (google it!), or some safe time in the sun getting some vitamin D can do wonders for your mood. Take the one hour outdoors if you can and practice earthing or grounding (a few minutes of bare feet to earth contact).
one thing you’ll thank you for
I have binged watched three seasons of Friends, done some colouring in, some baking, some nanna naps, watched several 80’s kids movies, some trash reality T.V, you know the important things that make you snuggle in to the sofa like “ah, safe!”.
one thing your body will thank you for
This could be, yoga, stretches, star jumps, sit ups, jogging on the spot, walking up and down the stairs or some chair based exercises. Whatever you can manage, just give your body a little wiggle to let loose any tension and also IT’S JUST SOMETHING TO FUCKING DO MAN SO BORED.
one thing your future self will thank you for
Some things I have done, have been online courses relevant to things I want to do soon, some housework I’ve been putting off forever, getting my finances in order, and brushing up on some skills. If you’ve always wanted to learn a new skill now is the perfect time, blogs and online creators are bursting with content right now.
